Bit of a parting shot for me this.......

I've become more and more disillusioned about this site since returning from NZ.

Very few people have any interest in my images and I'm getting fed up of the whole click clique that seems to reside here.

Certain images gain huge amounts of clicks for seemingly average work, while many images I have seen in the gallery are completely ignored despite their equal, if not better, quality.

It is nothing personal to the friends I have made here and I will continue to remain in contact and pop in from time to time. But right at this moment I need a change and to concentrate my efforts elsewhere, away from the desire to be voted on!

I have an exciting year ahead of me with the photography business and I need to prioritise what's most important.

So I bid you all farewell for now and I wish everyone the best of luck with the light!

Dan

All the best for the future Dan, and for what it's worth, I think you've picked probably one of your best images to leave with!

Best Regards
Paul

Realy lovely image, but when you put up a perfect picture what more can one say?

Bye Dan. 'Click' :o)

I can understand why you get upset when an image such as this is ignored Dan!!! Sad
Jon Gibbs is another who seems to get the same treatment for very classy images. This would be into triple figures if uploaded by some on here! A great image to leave with, hope you come back and the very best for the future.

Best regards,

Phil.

A fine shot and it's a shame you've had enough, and I hope you do come back.

Class photo, as is your portfolio which I'm afraid has completely passed me by.
Now that I've found it, it would be a shame to see you go!
I understand your reasons and comments but I think we are all guilty to some extent.
Anyway, good luck for the future Smile

Sorry to see you go Dan but I can fully understand your reasons. Have loved your Guernsey shots in the past and your NZ images are every bit as good. Hope you keep posting in your website so I can keep in touch with your beautiful island home. Having a holiday in Guernsey in June and your images really wet the appetite.

Best wishes for the future.

Geoff

I here what you are saying Dan, i also reckon that certain places in the UK (if i can put it like that) are grabbing the limelight more than others on EPZ and its becoming a bit boring and predictable.
Its a real shame to see you go though because i think you are uploading some of the best photo's by far (like this one) from your part of the world.
Good luck with the future and your photography.

Neil

Sorry to hear of your 'departure' Dan but best of luck with the biz and nice to see some great light on this gorgeous part of the world. We were there in the peak of the mid-day sun a couple of years ago so we never saw the scene as peaceful as this.

Thanks for sharing nonetheless and it's a shame we'll miss your offerings in the future. I gave up on click-hunting a while back but still enjoy the work of many here and find it a source of inspiration nonetheless. I do understand your reservations though.

Good luck, Howard

Absolutely marvellous shot Dan. I completely understand where you are coming from. But try not to worry about the lack of feedback on here. You've walked on this beautiful beach, taken this great shot and seen a remarkable country. Thats far more important to you at the end of the day than a few points.

Adam.

You know, I stopped using the site about ayear ago for much the same reasons. I came back a few weeks ago and guess what, nothings changed. It would be nice if some of the suposed wonderfull photographers who get hundreds of votes could get there heads out of there a**es long enough to give others the benifit of they're "skill/talent/knowledge". Sorry to rant on your page. BTW your pics are VG - Jeff

The bottom line is that clicks mean far more than how good an image is, they also mean how many friends you have on the site and how popular you are, it used to bother me but thats just the way it is mate, don't worry about the issue and just enjoy taking your photo's, this one is up there with your best work.
