Docky woods - Bluebells in black and white. These woods were shrouded in mist for most of the morning and was very atmospheric

Love this, would think about adding some soft blur to give it an ethereal look.

A very attractive image Brian. Mono makes it about the trees and not the flowers, changing its focus.

I would like to see less of the foreground flowers, and more tree, and Ive cropped, and extended the height of the trees by the same amount in mod1, adjusting contrast along the way. The added height compensates for the bottom being removed, and the taller trees can look better.

There are some comments above about blur, and I think the suggestion may really be a misty, early morning look, and I have also loaded a mod with this effect in V2. You can search the techniques or videos on this site, and Google for how to add mist in Photoshop if you wish to emulate this effect. It can work, giving the shot a different mood.

Well done and hope this helps,

regards

Willie

It's also worth trying some colour toning. A pale blue to complement the misty and atmospheric mood, like an old cyanotype image.
