My wife and I, two of our neighbors, and an old friend and his new girlfriend just spent three plus days sailing on the Chesapeake Bay last weekend. We drove down on Friday afternoon and boarded our boat, Legacy, a Beneteau 39 early evening, and set sail Saturday morning around 9. A not very windy day, sailed all day on the "iron jenny" (the engine). We made about 40-45 miles to the Choptank River, next day up to the Wye River, one of the most scenic locations on the Bay, and then back on Monday.
Woke up Saturday morning....no wind, blue sky, totally calm waters....and lots of sailboats and swallows. What could be wrong?
Since I was at the helm most of the trip, I did not get to make many wildlife photos (mostly ospreys in their nests on markers)...our newbie crew member (the new girlfriend) with her new Canon with telephoto lens got most of those.
So, for the next week or two, sailing photos, starting with a few days of photos the first morning in the marina, Haven Harbor.
