Our friends' house is down a long dirt road about eight miles north of the town, and harbor (more of that another day) of Vinalhaven. This marsh is along the road not far from the town. I found the small dead trees to be a worthy center of interest in these two photographs, blessed by a cloudy day, almost as wonderful as a rainy day for color.

Marsh lands are never a pretty sight but are so interesting as it harbours a lot of life Smile The colour in these is excellent, as you said due to the clouds Smile This makes for good images Peter - the contrast of the dead trees with the luscious green grass !

Actually, Herman, I often find a kind of raw beauty in the simplicity and starkness of marshes....often with dead trees. But then, that kind of decay can be quite beautiful, or at least photogenic, in its own way.

I like V1 for the better balance of depth consequently creating good composition. Nice colour contrasting with the foliage. Well done Peter.

I love the contrast between the dead, decaying and dying with the lush crisp, fresh, green and lush foliage...
