My first morning on Vinalhaven, I went out on the two person kayak with Robert. It was full high tide, and there was no wind. Just a bit off from their house, was this rock----and there was absolutely no wind, the water was dead flat, and the rock appeared to be totally floating in space. And, I did not have my camera with me. The next morning, we went out at about the same time near high tide, and it was almost, but not quite as still. The illusion was good, but not quite perfect. After that, each trip out on the kayak, I had my camera, and could take advantage of the weather proof and water resistant attributes of the Olympus OM-D.

Sometimes the best photos are the ones that are in our mind's eyes, the ones that we have no camera for and we miss.

The others are other images of the same rock, one from the other side. You all choose.

Thanks for your votes for my floating bird yesterday.

A fine set of what looks like an almost surreal scene.
My favourite is V 4 although embarrassingly I am not sure why.
Ronnie.

An interesting foreword supported by four great images, I particularly like image number 3, the light and refection has been captured quite superbly Peter.

The rock tells its own story---- v4 shows all, I like the subtle water makes, and the view of the top!

BTW-- there are new leaves popping up from the primrose!

From each side I like V2 and V4. My sister who has traveled around the world with her choir, said to me a long time ago, that the best pictures are the ones in our minds. Those moments when we are completely present, like Osho says.
Keep them coming Peter, your trip was awesome.
