The bad boy is the African Bull Frog. They have a video in the museum of one of his cousins (could have been him, for all I know) eating a mouse. I think he is not blind in that one eye, but rather that his nictating eyelid is down. He is big, really big. While I as looking at him, I observed to my wife that he looks like Jabba The Hut (from Star Wars, remember?) and a museum person walking by overheard me and said that that is what they call him. Struck me, that he might well have been the model for the Star Wars character, rather than the other way around.

Here is what the Museum of Natural History says about him:
Mean Green Eating Machine
African bullfrogs grow up to 8 inches in diameter and eat almost anything that moves. They are able to live without food or water for months by digging underground. When the rains arrive, they emerge to eat and mate. The male guards the tadpoles, which swim around him for protection. While protecting the swimming tadpoles, he also feeds on them. After metamorphosis, froglets often eat their smaller siblings.

African Bullfrog
Pyxicephalus adspersus

Class: Amphibia
Family: Pyxicephalidae
Size: Up to 8 inches in diameter
Food: Insects, reptiles, small mammals, other frogs
Range: Most of sub-Saharan Africa
Habitat: On the ground, anywhere water is likely to collect during a summer rain
Life Cycle: Females lay up to 4,000 eggs that hatch and develop into froglets 18 days later.

Thanks all for your votes on my last big frog...I suspect that for all his size, this guy is faster than yesterday's, though perhaps not quite as handsome.

Peter

This one doesn't just look grumpy. He looks positively evil!

I am sure he's really not: but in terms of style, he's got Blofeld and Dr No well beaten...
