In August, my extended family comes together for a week each summer. We come from Philadelphia, Washington DC, Northern New Jersey, New York, Boston, Toronto and Jerusalem. Second week in August each summer. Lots of good cooking, two short blocks from the beach, sbout 20 or so for dinner each night. Three bread machines running each day to help keep up fed. Those of us who like to cook do (in collaboration), the rest clean up. It all works. My family likes to get together as often as we can for as long as we can. This series over the next days will be a variety of images, mostly from this summer, some from previous summers. I ride my bike each day, try to get in 40 or more miles......no hills, wind is always the issue.

Cape May is at the souther tip of New Jersey, and the beach faces South, where the rest of the Jersey shore the beaches face East. The rest of the beaches get deep very gradually; at Cape May, 15 feet into the water and you are swimming.

So, being at the beach,I thought I would start with some images of Herring Gulls.

Since it is an easy camera to have with me all the time, most of these photos were taken with my Canon Powershot S-100 rather than my Oly OM-D M-5. Easy to always have with me, even on my bicycle..

Lovely images Peter. The shadows tells me it was taken in the late sun Smile V4 is my favourite here - the look and detail pushes it to the front Smile Yes - rugby is BIG in South Africa.

Number four for me Peter and a good set with shadows, not fussy on family visits! My Mother in Law visited us thirty years ago and she is still here.

Trev.
