I find it so fascinating that peonies need the ants crawling around the bud in order to flower. Someone told me why once, which I do not remember. But, great to look at, and not bring in to the house. So, a couple of images of peony buds, and a few photos of them in full bloom, with a little rain water left over.

Peonies are beautiful flowers, your set of images do them proud. As far as the ant story goes...they are attracted to the sweet resin on the flowers. Its never been proved that the flowers need the ants to open, however the myth goes that eat away the bud covering making it easier for them to open....great photography Peter
