This Quechua girl. carrying a young child, and actin like one herself, was irresistable. Shot in Aguas Caliente, at the base of the mountain on which stands Macchu Picchu. The square was full of kids for hours that afternoon. Shot with my (then) nw digital Dimage A-1.

A real pity about the odd bits and pieces in the background because this could be very good. A lower viewpoint, looking upwards perhaps, or a much tighter crop to just the main face. Possibly slightly sharper too - could be a bit of movement but also minimal depth of field.

The costumes are very attractive, Peter, and your capture of the girl drinking is quite amusing.
I notice from the background that the girls are standing at a place where drinks are being served (Coke?) and so feel that this background scene is an important part of the "story" in your picture, and that you could even have included a little more of the left side of the scene. As it is, you have good detail on your subject, which is also fairly well isolated, and the background is slightly diffused.
I am not totally convinced that the drinking child is actually carrying the other child because there is no sign of a strap or carrier. I think the smaller child was simply standing behind the larger one, and feel it's a pity we cannot see her face.
Pamela.
