Good morning....
Thank you so much for all your votes and great comments on my little manure roller yesterday and a special thanks to Billy (Williamsloane) and Sue for their UA's, much appreciated.

Today they are holding an International conference in London on how to stop the illegal trade of ivory around the world and try and save our elephants and rhino's. It's now the 4th most lucrative world wide illegal crime after drugs, arms dealing and human trafficking. It's worth an estimated $20 billion a year....... So thought its a good idea to upload more elephant images.
Have a nice day...

Thank you, Colleen for these. I heard about the conference on NPR this morning.

I think that these may be the most noble and majestic animals on earth. Who mourn their dead, and keep close extended families in life.

Yes Peter, man is not always good, sometimes they are downright evil....you are right elephants are great, to sit in a an open vehicle surrounded by there gentle giants and watch them feed and interact is one of the most beautiful things to ever experience in life. Thank you for your awardGrin

Top notch pictures of these great animals.

They will have to sort out the gangs which are mostly running the trade now.
Hope things improve.

Beautiful images showing the skin texture of these amazing animals Colleen. Sorry to be a pessimist but I bet they do a lot of talking and achieve nothing just as has happened in the past with other world problems.

nice set of image , as for the Illegal trade in Ivory , I often wonder if the destruction of the siezed Ivory is a good thing or bad thing , would it be better to sell it off under some sort of licence cheaply whereby the money raised goes to some sort of charity , rather than creating a high price for those in the Illegal trade Sad

We are saying here, that if you want something to never be done, then you organize a conference or you create a "rescue committee" having as object that thing ....Therefore I do not believe ever in such actions, much trumpeted, but at the end of which it will not do anything concrete! I prefer instead a lot of beautiful words some quietly and effective actions. Or, when are huge economic profits from killing animals, it would be too difficult to be stopped those things ever (are too high interests). Unfortunately the man managed to exterminate other species with ease, and not able to stop that! Unfortunately from 100 years we are speaking of animal protection, and they still disappear!

About the set of elephants details, it's very interesting, beautiful textures! I would try something - eg V1 I would crop it so that we could not identify what the image is not realize at first what it is, would make a great abstract image
