Beautiful use of colour and contrast

Water monster

Water monster by turniptowers

Odd to have more comments than votes - Still I'm sure there are more votes to come as this is a really clever way of shooting water.

Farmers Market

Farmers Market by Daisymaye

Good to see one of your photos featured, as you take so much interest in everyone else's Smile

sparky

Really nice capture, good colour balance, and it really conveys the feel of a dog excited by running in the snow.

Burnt Out

Burnt Out by sandwedge

Shots like this are a lot harder to nail than ones where you have time to compose nicely, and this is done very well.

Hannah

A very strong image and thoughtfully processed, it really draws one in. The stats say no flash, which I found quite surprising as my immediate thought was that this was studio lit. So well done with however you managed to light it, excellent work.

JF's Tree

JF's Tree by Tars

Getting frost covered trees to work in a photo you would think would be easy - until you try to do it, so well done for this shot Smile

I don't like mono personally - but I take my hat off to you for such excellent composition - I hope she didn't have to hold the pose for too long! Wink

Winter in Lapland

Winter in Lapland by MissLena

I have driven around there in the winter - very different from what I am used to, and there are some amazing images to be taken Smile

Neist Point

Neist Point by AndrewAlbert

Niest is a beautiful place; but you have to make a real effort to get there, and when I was last there the folks in the lighthouse were distinctly unfriendly (despite that fact that they are legally bound to allow public access!) So I appreciate the quality of that cliff top shot Wink

Sunrise Over the City

Sunrise Over the City by Bzox

Sunrises and sunsets are usually a bit cliche; but this one was well spotted, with the sun catching that old con trail it makes a very good image

Wish in the wind

It is the step from 4 to 5 that I find mind boggling. Most of us would have simply gone and taken another shot with the girl holding a light! The way you change the way the shot is lit is very special.

I agree with Kate - the basic image is good, but it has the potential to be great ;o)

Beautiful composition, superbly lit, I love it

the Merritt Street Transition

Despite the few votes (so far) I rather like the way you have managed the textures and pulled out some really unusual imagery. I would be proud of an image like this!
