A beautiful shot, very evocative. However, I think there are a couple of problems with the composition. Firstly, the horizontals a nd verticals are sloping down to the right - easily fixed.

The shot's quite well balanced between the sun and the two fishermen, but it's a bit unfortunate that the rods are leading the eye out of the frame instead of into it towards the sun - it's tending to split the pic nto two halfs instead of pulling it together. (though I know there's not much you could have done at the time apart from asking them to re-pose Smile )

I think the unmanned rod in the middle doesn't servwe much purpose and in fact IMO is quite a distraction. If you're not too lpurist in your approach, you might consider cloning it out.

Hope that's something of use there. Nice one, wish I was there Smile

Hello, Harriet. Nice sunset and a bit of added interest with the boat masts in the background and the fishermen in the foreground. You have placed the sun nicely offset to the right, too. I can't help feeling that if you walked on to the left, you could have captured the fishermen in the right side of your frame, with their rods falling into the centre, and with the sun still nicely positioned. I have done a modification where I straightened the horizon, cropped the top and added some canvas to the bottom to create one-third water, one-third mountain and one-third sky on the vertical. I used a Levels adjustment to darken the silhouettes and enhance the colours, then highlighted the sun's reflections in the water ripples. My second modification is as a result of Stephen's suggestion about removing the unmanned rod.
Pamela.
