Every where you go in North Queensland you have warning signs of the Cassowary Having travelled quite a bit there we have never seen this bird The previous day we saw an immature one in a paddock near Mission Beach. On leaving Mission Beach next morning here was one in a drainage ditch. Photos taken, bad back light no good shots
So I resorted to taking this ones photo at the Port Douglas bird sanctuary a few days later
The Southern Cassowary is the second largest bird in Australia and can be found in coastal NE Queensland AU
