This rose had already faded but still had a beauty of its own.
Tried out different lighting and camera settings. This is just how it came from the camera, slightly cropped and a border added

I like what you have come up with here Helen, these colours are really wonderful and the lighting and shadow is excellent.Looking at the larger version, the flower does look like paper, which really enhances the look. You have captured the beauty of this faded Rose very well indeed.Well done. Click.
Pete.
ps.Your pictures are NOT crap,I can assure you.
Beautiful work Helen and Peter.
I just love it.Looks like it is made from rolled gold.

Love the tones and lighting on this. Compositionally I dont think it is as strong as it could be though as the rose is a apearing in the centre of the shot, I would like to see a bit more space to the right and bottom for the rose to "look" in to if you see what I mean.
Well taken.
Chris
Thanks for looking and all your nice comments. They are all much appreciated.
Thanks Pete(Foggytwo) for your support.
Chris thanks for your comments on the composition - I tried lots of different crops and this one seemed to work best because of the leaves.
Helen
Sorry, Peter (jaktis) I don't really understand your question.
It is a dying rose flower and leaves cut from an indoor rose bush, placed on a piece of card, lit with spot-lights and photographed. Hope this helps
Helen
Hello Helen and Peter, nice macro work with the overall colour tone complimenting the rose. Nice work.
Doug.
