Still no new material as such,:-( this was taken a couple of weeks back. I wasn't really sure about it in colour...so went the B&W route. I know it won't be to everyone's cup of tea but hey, you get a bit desperate after months of endless grey cloud.

Hi Helen - I like the use of B&W - works very well. The depth given by the second tree helps the comp and the blurring of the cloud movement works well to add something to the image.

It's the movement in the sky and that tree in the b'g that makes this work for me, Helen.
Oh, and the b+w makes me like it even more Wink
Cheers, Paul

Works for me Helen

I think the grey stormy skies really help with this sort of shot anyway.

The B&W treatment enhances the quality elements (the tree's solitude, the movement in the clouds) superbly, Helen. I also love the inclusion of that distant tree - it helps to provide a little counterbalance to the central positioning of the foreground tree.

Dramatic sky and great composition. Looks as if the small tree is arriving a bit late and out of breath to have his picture taken.

Classic pic. I like the way the nearest cloud echoes the tree shapes. Plenty of interest in the picture overall. Great tones.

Many thanks everyone. If you were wondering about the title, it's because the nearest tree is very much alive...the furthest tree is dead!! Just in case anyone thought I'd gone mad!!!!LOL.
