I start my working week on a Monday afternoon, so the mornings feel a bit like a holiday.
I get time then to catch up with things at a leasurely pace as I'm still in weekend "mode".
This morning that has meant sorting through more things from my Mum and Dad's home, now we have emptied it to put it on the market.
I've been going through Mum's table cloths, napkins and chairbacks etc. I found some that I embroidered as a child. When I was in Sunday School as a child, we would be given such things to make to sell at the Christmas Bazaar. Inevitably parents bought what their children had sewn, so I expect it was a good tactit. I've also got cloths that belonged to my grandmother too.
Its funny that the next generation don't value these things in the same way. Joy doesn't even use a tablecloth....................she so much more practical than I am. But somehow for me a table isn't set without one..........inspite of the inevitable ironing.
I wonder as I sort through Mum's things and linger over the memories if my children will do the same when I peg it. Somehow I can see them slinging them!! So for now the memories are with me and I will enjoy them.
