V2 gives you the original shot of this instrument - I doubt if v1 would give a good sound any more.
I have no idea what it is though
Creativity for 100 %. Well done
beautiful & beautifully done
I agree -- very imaginative. What a great abstract.
Clever! A real work of art
Well, if you hadn't told it was an instrument I'd not have known, even seeing the real thing in V2. It makes (or rather, you make) a superb abstract.
V1 is recognisably a musical instrument to me, rather more so than V2 in fact! Bill is on his way, he has a theory...
V2 reminds me of some bamboo building scaffolding from the Phillipines or another Far East land.
V1 , my first impression was a pile of rib bones.
Very good abstract is the result, in any case Helen. And so good to see the starting point for the finished product.
Since Moira has put me on the spot I've checked my resources in vain. However, it has some similarity with an Angklung (a sophisticated rattle from Java) - unless the various elements swing ito contact with each other, which makes it a clapper rather than a rattle! It's from the Far East in any case.
A highly imaginative manipulation that retains the atmosphere of the real thing.
Thanks everyone for your comments and particularly to DB for the GEA
Excellent manipulated abstract, Helen. In fact, v2 could be abstract 'cos in reallity I haven't got a clue either!! Congrats on the GEA.

Beautiful work Helen; an excellent image with great textures.
Makes for a fabulous abstract. Great work, Helen.
One of the many reasons I love this site. You learn something new everyday!
V1 does look like a tortured rib cage to me.....too much time spent in trauma nursing I guess!
Thanks Rende, Phil and Joline
Whatever it is Helen, you have done a great job of this image. Moira
If I had half you talent and expertise, I would be as chuffed as chips. Words fail me....
One of those obscure instruments that makes you wonder what the sound is like if played properly - love the manipulation - Carole
I've never seen an instrument like this before! An excellent interpretation of it in V1, Helen, and nice to see how it actually looks in V2
Great artistic creativity in V1 , luckily you incoporsted the original as I would have remained clueless
Thanks Carole, Trev and Michaela
