This is an image combining an isolated flower and layers of mould on my old apple tree bark. Its taken me several hours and many different attempts.
Thanks for looking.
Looks very vintage, nice colours and textures here, really effective work, Melissa
Love the subtle faded colours, nice work
Thanks Melissa and Karen
I have to admit that I don't generally go for composite shots... but this really caught my eye in the thumbs and closer inspection is rewarding - it's a lovely, gentle, balanced image. Carol
Thanks Carol for your comment
Well worth all the effort too. This is a stunning shot. It has such lovely shades and textures to it.
worth the effort...a fine result
Thanks Greg and Phil
Well worth your hard work , a really interesting and engaging image
What great work, a fantastic image.
A+ for this entire effort--- the colors--earthy and muted, the shapes in the bg working well with the subject giving the sense of timelessness-- Wonderful--- Jennnn
It is wonderful stuff mould. From the discovery of Penicillin,to a play around in Photoshop !!They have even written a song about it ---''Mouldy Old Dough''. A good take of this much maligned substance Helen.
An excellent manipulation, Helen. Carol
Thanks Mick and Carol. To be fair I was not at all sure how this would be received, but it was a good exercise and I will definitely try it again.
It looks very much like an old photo that has faded over the years & lost all it's colour.....you know, those that you find in a tattered old box in the attic.
I admire what you have done & achieved, but not for me I'm afraid.
Well you've given it a fair viewing here and on FB and so I know that it hasn't grown on you Hilary. I agree about the aged look and the mould has engulfed the flower too. Thanks for your comments though
Good creative work Helen. Personally I would like to see it a little brighter and what colour there is a bit more saturated.
Thanks for that suggestion Albert
top work Helen
photography and manipulation can take hours and hours I speak from experience but its also great fun especially when you get the desired effect - great result
Tiny and fragile-looking with the manipulation. Truly beautiful, dream-like.
Well worth the time Helen this has worked a treat. I love the tone of the image and the background is perfect for this grape hyacinth which has a frosty look to it on my screen. It does look antique and is very attractive,
Thanks Ann, Moira and Linda
Definitely A+ Helen, for idea, composition and execution. The background could almost be a mountainscape - think Alps behind an edelweiss - timeless and truly lovely.
excellent does take a while but it was all worth it
I love this effect - Jude.
Thanks Dawn and Jude for your comments.
Jude thanks so much for your award - I'm delighted with it!!

Lovely ethereal quality to this
delicate layering and interplay of colours, I think I'd go with a more traditional white frame... really like this
Thank you Sandra, Mavis, Stace and Nick
