I found a plant in the greenhouse at Kings Heath Gardens yesterday afternoon with leaves that reminded me of pencil sharpening.
A tad calmer than yesterday's - I like variety ![]()

Thanks for looking and thanks to Carol for the identification

Some layering from my brother's rusty oil container
I see I just about got this up before the clock struck twelve and I lost my glass slipper, so no need to hunt for my handsome prince - actually he's fast asleep upstairs ![]()

An extremely apt title Helen, indeed it does remind one greatly of a pencil sharpening, however I thought it more resembled a piece of felting, which my textile students would make many years ago. Brilliant colour, and the texture, well that is just something else entirely.
Regards Nathan
Thanks for your comments, and votes
Thanks to Carol for identifying the leaf and to Jenn for her User Award - a lovely start to my day ![]()

Its my one day a week at school today, so I will catch up with everyone later
Great shape in this excellent composed capture, like the use of your texture Helen.

Trev.
An appropriate title Helen - exactly what it looks like! A stunning macro!

Maybe not 'golden' but certainly has the 'ratio'. Lovely detail, Helen.
Retired... huh.... fat chance, but at least there's no planning or reports. My 'retired' wife is taking the year 1s down to our allotment site today ![]()

Great capture, Helen - it does rather look like a pencil shaving! ![]()

I simply cannot resist photographing begonia leaves, Helen, they have wonderful patterns and colours, and this is no exception.
Really like the helical pattern and your textures Helen.

A marvellous natural abstract Helen, this one deserves an HB award![]()
