I went to the doctor's yesterday and just happened to notice this gramophone in a hairdresser's window on the way back - so I went in and asked if I could take a photo of it ................as you do SmileSmile
The mirror shows the hairdresser at the till.
The composition has a Impressionist feel about it to me
Thanks for looking
Helen

You told me about this, but I didn't expect the wider view. Helen this is wonderful. The processing is most appropriate, it gives a 'frozen in time' feel. The balance of the two chairs, the old gramophone, they all seem to be watching the lady reflected in the mirror. The composition could easily be confused but it works because of the strong diagonal from the gramophone horn leading up to the hairdresser. I bet she didn't realise that she was in your frame!

Even the hair dresser seems vintage, with her bun on top of her head. If you could remove the modern chair on the right it would be truly a step back in time. Very nice work on this, your treatment is exceptional in all regards.

A cracking image, Helen, love the processing, it has an 'old master' feel about it. I've tried several times to achieve this, but never been satisfied with my efforts Sad Really suits the subject, works very well, and think I might just have to give it my UA...Wink

A superb shot with a wonderful compo! The master herself is there, so there's no need to listen to her voice through the gramophone. It must be lying under a chair.Wink
