Finished work a little early today and managed a couple of hours with the camera. This goldfinch made one appearance and I managed to get a few shots. Large is best if you have time.
Many thanks to Wilmot for the User Award yesterday, and to everyone for the C&Cs and the kind words regarding my mum. I really appreciate them all.

Steve is this at the Natural History Museum through glass...lol
I have never seen a Goldy looking so good. Brilliant exposure and sharp detail and an eye to die for.
Best bird tog I have seen on here for a very long time.
Think I like this one.
I was going out tomorrow with Ron after these will have to stick to Dartford Warblers now

Cheers Richard and all. Was hoping for a redpoll and although there were a couple around they didn't come anywhere near a perch. The goldy made up for some of the disappointment though!

This is Outstanding - Do all your shots come out as Superb as this, Please tell me you have to bin some lol. It really is Top Quality with a cracking BG to match. I need one now in my PF. By the way Steve i was at that place today for a about an hour and the GSW came down but was out of shot so i would of only got a head shot so i waited and just watched it then some dog barked and it flew off so missed it. But was amazing to see it so close up.

This is an absolute cracker Steve. Terrific light, tones and clarity, with the Goldy superbly detailed and posing to perfection. Wonderful plumage patterning and perfect bg tones.
