The tutor had ten flower-arrangers, of varying levels of experience from old hands to beginners, sitting in a circle.
At the end of the class she led everyone round to look at all the arrangements in turn, and found something to praise in all of them.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

I like the inclusion of the hand in this one Moira.
I was wondering what people would see in this one, I also saw a stork with wings flapping!
Maggie
Marvellous lack of depth, concentrates the eyes on the flowers and these wonderful hands.
Dougie
Perfect focus Moira, very good POV. Loving those hands and the tones are superb.

old hands to beginners ...
There's something rather melancholic about this mono presentation, Moira, but captivating at the same time.

A fine bit of work again with the LB, Moira, it really draws the eye in towards the lady's handiwork ![]()

A dream opportunity to be able to photograph this - just wonderful. For some reason, I like the fact that the hands are those of an older person.

Quote: you can almost feel the gentleness in the old lady's touch...might take a crop on the rh side to square up the frame?
Problem is, I love the effect that bending the LB has on light bokeh - in this instance the highlights on the watch. I wouldn't want to lose that...
Quote: Old but still creative hands. Doing what that agile brain wishes.......

The photos were very well received by the group. But several ladies said 'I didn't realise my hands looked so old...'
Thanks everyoner and particular thanks to Matt for his UA. We are back after a long day, I'll catch up later...

Moira, don't feel the need to apologize for your time crunch.
This is a wonderful shot -- with the hands in just the right focus -- not too sharp to detract from the floral arrangement but not so soft that we can't make out details.
Nicely done.

Beautifully composed and great Baby effect.

I like the senior hand here, arranging and looking as fragile and delicate as the flowers
