Two fun uploads - not perfect but the result of inclement weather keeping me inside Smile Just to prove to my northern neighbours that we also have daffodils - imported from Britain of course Smile The feathers are from a guinea fowl and the quill from a porcupine.
Thanx so much for your kind response to my Coral tree flower and a huge thanx to Cathy for her treasured UA - much appreciated !!
Have a super Tuesday !!

I like V1 for the leather texture and warmth. Like the feather patterns. Is that a Goard?
Interesting still life images Herman...

Interesting choice of subject matter, the Zulu carving and the Daffodil. If memory serves there were a large number of Welsh soldiers at the battle of Rorkes Drift when 154 men most Royal Engineers held off persistent attacks from between 3000 to 4000 Zulu warriors. So I can't help but see the irony.

Good still life

Good morning Herman, my cold is finally surrendering and you celebrate this wonderful fact with a bright yellow daffy; my Grandfather would have loved you, he was Welsh, not that I got to know him much since he died the day I was born.

Well I was certainly unaware of the facts presented above by Marktc; given the hostilities of the time I think it is great that harmony is being reflected with this combination of subject matter, well thought out Herman.

A very well constructed still life Herman, I like it. Funnily enough I have quite a collection of poppy heads that I use in my still life attempts, they are a remarkably complicated piece of natural engineering.

So that's how you Afikanize the daffodil..eh? We, in the rain forest of Vancouver Island B.C. have had nothing but sunshine for all of July and ten days of August. Clouds are here now, at last. Rain is sure to follow. You inspired me to do more in the rain. Both images are a pleasure. TG
