Thanx to Brian and Ronnie I have learned the secret of black cardboard - so my wife had to hold it behind these Iris lilies in our garden for my first experiment
Beautiful image nice colour well captured.
Very well done, Herman: a beautiful result from the use of a black card and with quite stunning irises growing in situ as subjects.
The vertical arrangement of the three blooms could not be better, and I like the inclusion of the leaves as a framing at the foot.
Detail and colour immaculate.
Slate grey; the perfect counterfoil colour for these lovely blooms. Very pleasing. TG
Herman the way that the light has caught on these Iris`s is just heaven, a very well taken picture....Mal.
Lovely colours and light here Herman.
Well done. WesternRed.

A super capture and team effort.
Well done, this look's beautiful,it's great that we learn from others on this site.
Another suggestion, use a photographic programme with a flood-background facility .
Great shot there Herman, a very good presentation worth the effort, regards Leon.

fine image the black b/g always works a treat
Lovely arrangement with blackboard magic, Herman. You'll be using Ronnie's kitchen sink method next
Yet another beautiful image.
Really beautiful contrasts in colour and beautiful composition - almost like a minimalist zen flower arrangement. Lovely.
Superb shot, fabulous colours and excellent detail, beautifully captured and presented.
Excellent composition, the colours work very well together.
Spot on Herman, i think the black BG works well my friend. Thanks for your kind comments.
fantastic Iris shot.. will have to wait till spring for the next ones
Forgot to say.. I just looked up yougberries, they derive indeed from dew bery brables rasberries and blackberries. Sound very appetizing. Well ours are common French brambles .. thorny but the berries are very good in years with sufficient rain.
the stem is the same
Lucky 2 get 2 together.
Wonderful capture. Great idea with the background
Excellent shot Herman, super detail, colour and lighting. The black card worked a treat, I use a couple of bulldog clips to hold the card up against the fence when I can, if not its handy to have a wife isn't it.
Beautiful Herman, great light, colour and detail, Peter..
Very lovely arrangement. Beautiful lighting, detail and colour.
