I battled to upload this morning - kept on getting a message in red that the file type was wrong, even when I tried to re-upload yesterday's image Smile I wanted to take a photo of the snow on our mountains but the clouds are very secretive - only allows us a slight glimpse and then close again Smile
Thanx for all the votes and comments yesterday - I love the interaction on epz !

One of SA's most striking plants..beautifully caught..

Everyone's friend Google says:-
[It has been reported that the abakwaMthethwa clan in KwaZulu-Natal use the strained decoctions from the inflorence to treat inflamed glands and venereal diseases. The seeds are also used in the Cape to sour milk. Delphinidin-3-rutinoside (used for colour) has been isolated from the petals and proanthoncyanidin polymers (flavonoids, antioxidants) from the leaves.] GrinGrinGrin

Gorgeous capture of the lovely flower that we know as Bird Of Paradise. I took pictures of my friend's Strelitzias in Spain, the white ones this time, on plants that are 5 metres high!

A great capture Herman, ours are also spectacular in the garden but not sure after all the rain and hail yesterday. Look forward to the snow pics when it clears. The heavy rain pelting against the windows woke me up numerous times during the night. Great words of wisdom this morning Herman.
