As a response to 911, I nailed a small Stars and Stripes at half mast to a thick dowel, it was just a gut reaction whilst witnessing those teriible but memorable scenes unfold on TV that awful day.

The flag is put out on each and every anniversary in memory of all the innocent souls who died so horribly.......in betwwen times it is stored in my veranda next to odd bits and pieces.

As i was passing the other day, I suddenly saw (with a photographers eye) the potential for a photographic creation..................The section of folded flag, the timber of the dowel and the section of Vintage Forester's Saw all came together to form this vertical composition.

The the main items reminded me of the Pioneering Spirit of the US NATION

Nothing was touched or moved, it was just there...........

I only had to clone our a few stray cobwebs prior to my usual processing and selective sharpening:
