Not Quite Hansel and Gretel

Good morning everyone, I do hope I am finding you all well.

I got up this morning to find someone has taken a fancy to our dustbin along with several other neighbours bins in the street, either that or aliens arrived in the night and took them to run experiments, maybe when the bin doesn't take them to its leader they will put it back.
So I had to make a phone call to the Police this morning, again. I say "again" as on Thursday night whilst we were attending the NorthEast Buisness Awards my mobile went off at around 10pm. It was my eldest son who had strict instructions not to phone unless it was an emergency.
I felt my heart sink as the phone sat in my hand vibrating with my sons name illuminated on the screen. I answered it, hoping that he had ignored what I had said and was phoning to ask something stupid, he wasn't.
He is a smoker and is banished from the house to the street when he wants a fag, I am an ex-smokerof many years, a very bad one, I still get times where I could put a whole pack of cigarettes in my mouth and smoke the lot in one go so the smell of smoke is like torture to me. Anyway, he had gone outside to have a breath of fresh air and whilst stood in the street he spotted that Gill's car which was parked on the road had a flat front tyre. Being a good lad, he decided to change it. This of course has nothing to do with that his Mum drives him to work in the morning.
Having changed the flat tyre he decided to phone me to let me know. Not let me know that he had changed it, or that it was flat, nope, he phoned me to tell me that some total muppet had thrust a large kitchen knife straight through it. Thanks for that.
The Police were called by my son and they came out to see Gill the following day, it's not exactly an emergency, so fair enough. The officer proceeded to tell us that our car was one of five with tyres slashed in the area that night and over the last three weeks there have been at least twenty done.
I like the Police, I think they do a very good job under the circumstances, I also think it is a very hard job. I have friends who are Police Officers, but I have to question, if this has been going on for the past three weeks why are there no officers on patrol in the area? I mean there is someone walking around with a knife which is large enough to enter through one wall of a car tyre and exit through the other wall. That's a rather large knife and a scary thought.
What a week, but it is now the weekend and my darkroom is nearly finished, the garden is beginning to take shape and I am spending today and tomorrow getting them both closer to finished than they are now, which I enjoy.

Todays upload is another from my trip out to Weardale and the Pennines.
I spotted this tin shed and had to get a shot of it. I did however get the car stuck in the small muddy gateway and for a moment thought I would have to get help to get out, but then suddenly I the car gained some grip and I was able to get back on the road.
