Really sharp and detailed has the makings of an awesome image, however get rid if the red surround too distracting. Also, try an unusual angle rather than front on, expertiment with different surroundings and even lenses to add originality.

Gorgeous pup,
Try getting someone to hold a toy or something above your head, i often do this to get a smile out of my dalmation

Ice is gorgeous. This is a nice portrait shot. I agree about the red in the bg, looks like someone's coat or jacket. However, it serves to indicate what a bg darker than the dog can do...can you see how the dog's coat shows up on the red and not on the grey part of the bg? I also think the shot is a bit light, but Ice's eyes are fabulous.
Have done you a mod. There is also a blue cast on the head and I should have tackled that, too, but might have lost some blue from those lovely eyes.
