I think this image would have been better if the cheetah had eye contact with the camera. Taking the shot from a lower perspective (if it was possible) might have improved the chances of getting eye contact.

Yes, I think I prefer the other one too. The icicles in the other one appear almost menacing, like an ice hand. This one is very tame and the composition doesn't quite work. Perhaps if the shot was taken more from the right, with the large icicle dominationg and in focus aganst the smaller icicles thrown out of focus the composition might be better.
