Dunstanburgh Baptism

Hi everyone,

It's been a busy couple of weeks, but have finally got a chance to upload something. My father-in-law has lent me his Canon 5d, I am still getting used to it and this is from my first outting with it (almost last). When I arrived the conditions were calm and some colour was starting to appear in the distance, promising start I thought, so I got set up and took some test shots. Whilst a long exp was being taken I looked to the left at the horizon and saw what only I can describe as a wall of water in the distance, I didn't think it would come this far in on a receeding tide but it moved so quick I thought it best to plant my feet and hold camera kit aloft rather than try to run across the field of boulders. The height of the wave reduced, but came up to my hips and baptised my new wellies, hence the title When I saw the weather report later in the morning there were reported swells.

Camera survived!
