My favourite shot from our expidition up north to Skye. I wanted this shot before I even got to Elgol and happily sat there for a couple of hours shooting the tide come in and go out....and then sat another 40 minutes waiting for this moment as the sun flared on the horizon....

Fabulous image Richard - wonderful colour, light and detail - well worth viewing large !
Chris
LOL ... just read your [edited] description ... you allude to, but don't actually mention that you violently hogged the spot, elbowing and kicking everyone else out of the way, those that didn't shift got your tripod legs in their shots or that trained seagull you took with you pooped on their heads.
Next time let everyone have the full facts please ![]()
pmsl.....

You don't know how difficult it is to deal with them two...they just won't leave me be.... ![]()
I think I can help you there Cole. It's a single exposure and that's what makes it all the more impressive ... his set up was a combination of hard and soft grads, angled and stacked to make the grad transition barely noticeable.
Looked great on the back of the camera, even better now it's processed ... one I wish I'd taken TBH!!!
I'm sure Rich won't mind me answering for him ... too late if he does ![]()
Cracking shot. lighting, composition, colour blends sky and the foreground all good. Nicely taken sitting low or lying on the belly.

Wnderful Richard, I've been here so many times and only have the one sundown shot, from way back. Lovely quiet water in Loch Scavaig and the sunlight hitting The Cuillin, just wonderful.

Many thanks Andy and Angie for the UA, they mean a lot to me

Glad you all seem to like it ![]()
Excellent Richard, one of the best for me I have seen from Elgol I reckon.
You have arranged four main elements cohesively into the frame all glued by the unobtrusive sea, an image full of variety and interest.
Brilliant.
John

Wow, a real compliment indeed John, thanks for the kind words and your UA badge, it is much appreciated ![]()
Hope you are well?

Yes, I'm well Richard, just revving up for the forthcoming seasons and photo opportunities Scotland has to offer, been very quiet over the Summer months but have big plans for this Autumn and Winter.

Cheers Cole, it's one that I'm very happy with, especially as I've not been out with the camera of late. To come back from a cracking holiday with a shot like this is good enough for me ![]()
Glad to hear it John, I'll look forward to seeing your shots, no doubt they will be from far and wide (and from very very high!)
Dead pleased Martin....still am ![]()

Ta too Neil & Phil ![]()
LOL ... you had us waiting for a few days before posting so I thought it appropriate ![]()
Seriously, I had to wait for the ability to award it mate, but you got it at my earliest opportunity ... was always going to get it this one, top stuff and well worthy of all the accolades [and more].
A super image full of quality, ive sat looking at it for ages. At first unsure of the warm tones / versus cool tones (Caused by angled grads to keep the RH rock details ???). But the more I look at it the more I like the effect. Certainly worth the wait.
