The sand banks of the Luangwa River are high, ideal nesting location for Carmine Bee Eaters. These have been on my hit list for some time!! Very difficult to approach and photograph, here a frenzy of activity !!!

I can see how hard these must have been to get. Almost the same colours as the red banks. So many of them. I have only ever seen a pair!
