This is taken at night. 30s exposure (its so hard to try and get the focus right when you can hardly see anything! Is there a way to do this that I haven't thought of?!)
Comments appreciated as always
Hope everyone has had a nice weekend

Nice one Lynn .... very dramatic capture !
Thanks for the comments It was taken at the Severn Valley railway station at Bridgnorth. You can sneak round the back where all the trains are parked up for the night
there are a couple of people on here who specialise in that kind of shot...i think that they use a torch to selectively light the subject through the long exposure...
i really like the effect you've achieved here though where what light there is catches the engines and ground..nice sky to
looks like chilly work to me!
Lovely, great shot Lynn, some wonderful dark tones and some great catchlights on the engine and rolling stock.
Great photo. Excellent tones and atmosphere.
Wonderfully dark and atmospheric. Bruce
Lynn this is beautiful/love the dark moody tones and the lighting is spot on for the photograph.
Stunning/beautiful photo.Fantastic subtle light.Great sky.
a very nice shot, haven't tried exposures like that myself but have plans to
A nice shot that has atmostphere and character!!
When i do my shots i use a torch on the area i want sharp and in focus. and sometimes use the scale on the lens if i'm pushed for time..
Thumbnail doesn't do this image justice, it really is a cracking picture, full of atmosphere.
Had a quick read of your CV, interesting job. If you work with children you may be interested in my company's work
Some how this image is very nice dark tones.Like it.
Stunning image You! Really impressive
delighted to be Click No 30 here
lovely, a very strong moody image.
Lynn excellent capture that must be seen large to pick up all the detail and how much stregnth you gave it with the dark and detail coming out of it!
Well captured Lynn, original.
clever abstracted image. The thumbnail lets it down, I bet you've missed a lot of views, really need to see the big pic to appreciate.
a bold dark old romantic feel to this shot.
well done iajacks
beautifully atmospheric, really nice
The easiest way is to use the distance scale on your lens I think - but I know these aren't always very good on modern lenses.
The dark composition and the subtle light works well Lynn. Great shot.
Stunning shot! This is night photography at its best
Superb, absolute top class, great work Lynn.
like this - nice and dark. Look at tandberg's pf for more tips on night photography. He uses flash or torches to illuminate the subject.
Caption should have been Ghost Train. A terrific shot.
