I agree. This is an underrated image. Good tones in there albeit some of the shadows have blocked up but, that said, great subject matter, well captured, good composition and presentation. Seen worse get more...

I guess we all did this sort of thing as kids, you have taken and presented this view of kids so well. Colour would have soften all the edges of this...B/W rules.
All the very best
Dougie
excellent again, allthough I might have cropped it a bit closer (bit of the bottom and left)
Fantastic/typical young boys just like we where I suppose.
Tom.
great composition, great feeling to it.
Every picture tells a story, for this image it certainly is true..
well done
Anne

Wonderful 'social documentary' image - bw perfect medium and the grittiness fits like a glove. You certainly have a flair for this type of photography - great pf. Bruce
Makes you thank how lucky we are and that we all need to do more. Love it. Touch the heart

A very good capture and thought provoking image. Well done with great work.
Hey Bernie could you do me a big favour i tried to take your advice but if you get a sec could you have a look at "happy days" in my pf. I would really appreciate it.Cheers Paul
What a great scene bj, love the social commentary approach, delighted to have found your pf, as I am trying to learn mono techniques, and yours is stunning, fine work, Adrian
Hi Bernie, I really love these shots of yours. There's a strong sense of social documentary about them, and it's particulary good to see some street shots of kids like these - very rare in these ridiculously paranoid times which, for example, often mean I am prevented from photographing my own 12 year old son playing in a football match! I can see some of your shots still having a strong resonance many years hence. Keep up the good work!
Best wishes
Steve
It has been said by all the others before me. Like them I love your gallery and this shot is fantastic. If it wasn't for the clothes it could so easily have been taken in the 30's. Great social documentary, keep it up.
Many thanks for your very kind comment on my gallery.
Best wishes
Derek
very good image indeed your portfolio is very high standard indeed
thanx for sharing
regards
jimmy
Just come accross this shot of yours - think it's great, well done !
Chris
fantastic those boys they seem to be so proud and even though they seem to live in big poverty they are not appearing depressive in any way. A fine art again i am so in love with your images Bernie
wow a long way down for a comment but must say it must be done just to say what everyone else has said know doubt and that is fantastic shot and great expressions on the wee boys faces.
