you go away for ages, but you always make an entrance, with a bloody corker.
this is really stunning steve.
well done mate.
Really unusual and very impressive.
Superb shot, really excellent perspective, well taken
Would love to see this bigger
I know Ann, it don't really do it justice at this size.
thanks all for the great comments.
Yeah, I'd love to see a big version of this too. Great composition (especially with the second tree) and colours.
I see from tags it's flash and long exposure...are you willing to share any more details?
It's a 5 mins exposure @ f6.3 iso 100.
I used a 550ex flashgun set to 1/2 power and flashed the tree 10 times from multiple angles.
I also used a torch to add a bit of light to the distant tree. It took me quite a few attempts to get this one right and I also gained a cricked neck setting up the tripod!
Hope this helps.
Thanks so much Steve - does the moon (or lack of it) make much of a difference?
Love the effect and am always intrigued with people's techniques, ideas and ingenuity.
I like to see unique (on ePHOTOzine at least)... and this is it! Good to see you getting coverage in the magazines lately Steve
Hey well done Highly deserved EC for its originality.

Certainly is a good un! and stands out as different.
Wow, cheers you lot and what a nice surprise, cheers Pete
Re. the moon Nic, it can make a huge difference, depending on it's phase and length of exposure it can make a night shot look like it was taken during the day.
Fantastic exposure.Very different and superbly composed.
best use of a fisheye I've seen in yonks.
Suberb use of this lens. Esp like the time blurred clouds.
