A departure from the normal for me.
I'm still learning to like out of focus parts
in images.
Mind you a lot of my photos used to be all out of focus!!!
I'll be interested in your comments.
Many thanks for votes for Sunset Orbs.

I like the balance of this capture. Very Well Done Kate.

This is wonderful the seed head against the dome! Life is never totally in focus so why should our pictures be?
Susan
Having part of an image out of focus, as in the dome in this image Kate highlights your subject matter better. It automatically draws your eye to the subject and gives the image depth as well. Personally i thinks it takes an okay image and makes it a lot better
A good image ![]()

I agree with the above comments. I would, however like to have seen the seed heads sharper. Or at least one of them to bring the eye in more. The comp is fine and I see exactly what you were doing but maybe next time try focusing on one element so the eye has somewhere to concentrate, if you know what I mean. At least one element should be the main focal point of the image.

I was curious to see the comments because of 12 images we each gave Dimitri Vaseliou
( Earth's Beauty Tours) for our last day presentation, this was the one he has used in his galleries
on the website.
He said he liked it when I took it. I'm just getting sed to this kind of image.

Doubt if I could get that low. Well spotted and a good study. The seed head makes the dome look toy like. Great capture.
I like the fact that the upper shape of the seed head cluster echoes the shape of the dome behind it. It is a good study, and although I agree that the heads themselves (or at least one of them) could be a touch sharper, I don't think that detracts from the overall graphic quality of the image.
Good Day Kate never tried this kind of shot but can see the merits of it keep up the good work

I agree with Paulcr. There is something a bit unsettling about this, and I think it is the lack of sharp focus at some point in the image. The technique you used is well worth practicing with, though. I like oof backgrounds, they add interest to images in many cases.
I think this is a very well structured image Kate and something I would not have thought of trying. In truth I find the dome a little off-putting... we are all different I guess in what we like personally and this image is just not for me. That doesn't stop me from congratulating you and taking in thoughtfully all the excellent advice and observation above!

I think this is a great shot, the seed pods lead nicely down to the dome. My eyes see the top pod sharp and as the eye follows down the others less sharp leading to the dome.well thought out.

Beautifully composed and captured Kate, a lovely image.

A lovely composition Kate,I really like it,well done..Lin
Seem to have missed this one.. I do try a lot of these oof shots & I think they work when the 2 images compliment each other which IMHO they do in this image.. Love it![]()
