Buttermere - West End

Buttermere - West End by Niknut

Some great light there. Perfect photo conditions

Pied Wagtail

Version 2 for me. 1 is rather static and dwarfed by it's perch. 2 is a very dynamic shot, giving a great impression of movement, not only from the bird's pose but also from the diagonal composition.

Heron

Good, but could have been better with it more on the right flying into the left instead of left flying left

Love the composition.
How would it look in mono?

never the easiest bird to get a composition correct on. For a full frame landscape shot you really need to have a little space all round the bird and to include all of its tail would mean pulling back on the zoom and showing a little less minute detail.
Your shot here doesn't work for me because the bird is not playing ball and looking towards the camera, a going away shot as such. Detail is good but colours are a bit blue, maybe increase the white balance ten to about 5500K or thereabouts to get a truer colour rendition.
Plenty detail and a great subject to come back to if you can

Really, really sweet shot. Everything is in perfect place

The Seed Fight

The Seed Fight by BURNSIE

If it were mine I'd lose the baseline grass. If only to make it a stronger image but concede it would then take the context out of it. I'd rather the strong image though

Nice with the minnow too

Ah ha, my area of photography.
Lovely capture, only advice I would give you is to get down really low to effectively blur the background and be on the same eye level as your subject

Starling In The Sun

Great detail, especially on the feet.

Cock Pheasant

A touch too big in the frame for my taste. Good colours and nice detail captured
