wow i thought this was a bear or something when i looked at the thumbnail. you caught him/her just right , copmosition is great!
you dont give any exif details and the light looks a little tricky (very hard light shining through trees in bg) dont think you used fill flash cant see evidence of it. only critique i can offer is the exposure is over a little with some burn out in bg highlights. try adjust the levels a little but i dont think youll totaly rid them. would be interesting to know what metering mode you used? perhapsa little saturation boost too would bring out the green and enhance the slope..its a nice shot, well done.
hope this is useful for you.
regards
john

As John indicates, this is a well captured image.

However there is a blue cast to the photo which makes the dog look dark blue rather than black and also affects the other colours in the photo. In the mod I've uploaded for you I've removed this blue cast and also used the shadows/highlight tool to try and rein in the overexposed parts of the image slightly. Hope this is helpful.

Thank you for the very useful tips!
I see (now) the blueish cast.

The EXIF data:
1/40 at f4
exp bias 0
ISO 400
no flash
program Aperature priority
Metering: Pattern.

Will try your tip re saturation, a rich green would be much better, ot sure if I can fix the highlights more. It was fairly dim with the strong rays behind. Not sure how I can prevent that in future. Thanks again. New to the site but see it will be a very useful resource.

Carabose, I am having trouble replicationg your blue cast removal w/o messing up things completely. Could you tell me how to do this? Many thanks!
