I have this tune in my head "two steps forwards and one step back" it seems as if wading through artistic photo treacle at the moment.
I've been practising a little Photoshop processing of late and bits of this are bedding themselves in, but its not yet coming together; I'm trying to move home and set up a small studio but this is taking months now and i've not been shooting portraits for ages. Frustrating little time and opportunity to produce frustratingly mixed results.
I'll tough it through and try to more regularly process images and run tutorials.
I'm inspired by loads on epz, but most recently by Baden who seems to be producing amazing varied work after lots of hard work. he is a lovely chap takes the time to say Hi, he also did a great shoot with a local model just down the road from me.

I'm also seeing cool photo's but perhaps choosing to comment too early on some, I loved a recent EC but seemed to find distractions that other's didn't and said so straight away, i'm glad this makes me unique but am quite sure i'm a way off from ever being a regular photo judge as i'm still not seeing images in the way other experienced photographers see them. Maybe that's a book worth reading - "How to judge photography competitions".

Anyway - my blog is asking you to bear with my uploads whilst i practice ( or until i learn enough to judge my own work and not have to seek qualified feedback ).

Meanwhile I'm following loads of inspiring process people including these, efactsphoto, sherring, Angi_Nelson, stratocaster72, Arhb, Uppercut, Richsr and of course Schotzart.

Best Wishes
Stuart

An interesting post and highlights one of the the great thing about ePHOTOzine - it's not elitist so you can practice and try different things Smile

Not to worry Stuart,

I have been making very slow progress since around 1970 Sad

I thought I was just getting the hang of it until 3 years ago then I went and bought a digital cameras !

So inconsistent these days which as you say is frustrating.... in fact I almost gave up completely back in April
