One of my Nieces at the end of a long shopping trip (new hat) with much to much attitude for someone who has only just moved to middle school.
Tried a very light HDR style look and pulled a couple of the more extreme LR sliders back for what I hope she will like as a funky look.

I recognise that attitude. I've got one just like it in year six.
As for the shot, it's good but the shadow?
agreed - i hate shadows, but as lots of shots seem to have shadows nowadays i thought i'd give it a go. thanks for that feedback
I might ask this as a forumn question some time - a poll on shadows.
Cheers
Stuart

I think that you could well have a very valid point there Stuart.
I don't really do 'proper' portraits, all of mine tend to be outdoor shots of my Chloe but I do take the occasional indoor one and it's something I'd quite like to take more seriously.
With my well documented disregard for anything resembling conformity to the so-called rules of composition, including shadows is something that I'd probably go for.
The forum idea's a good one. It'll end in a row, of course but you'll get some sensible answers to begin with!
Exceptional...got attitude and don't 'mess with me'
Good image Stuart, and I rather like the shadow
but if you don't want the shadow, if she steps away from the wall more..shadow disappears too
if you re-angle yourself too look where the light is

Great portrait Stuart. However the check shirt in conjunction with the shadow, made me think I was seeing double.
