Hello and Happy New Year to you,

Thank you for showing an interest in my pictures. Today is the view looking west from the Triforium of Chichester Cathedral. I know that normal practice is to take this type of picture from the centre, however there is a pillar in the way...Sad As it happens I don't think it detracts from the final result Smile. I took the opportunity to take this during Evensong, whilst waiting for the rededication of St Richard's Shrine (in the foreground). I am fortunate to have access to the upper levels, which are not open to the public, as I was taking pictures for the cathedral records.

For those who are interested, I set a custom white balance for the activity that was to happen at the shrine, which has rather different light to the rest of the cathedral.

I hope you enjoy.

All the best,

James

Superb shot, I like the slightly off centre composition. Happy New Year.

lovely image, almost has that bright new clean look about it with no dark shadows lurking anywhere.
The starlet effect on the lights also works very well.

Yes Jas. Hole in one..Smile As you suggested it has tweeked up rather well, but not before I had been back in to find out what wasn't square. It turns out that the shrine and eastern end of the cathedral are not in line and so there is a correction in the border to the floor, which I have cropped out. It was very distracting.

Having read James's (xwang) comment I had to go back and I agree the crop has improved what was a fine shot anyhow James, perfectly exposed with plenty of rich detail, very nice!
