Hi all,
Many thanks for your continued support. Today's upload is just for fun really. I rather liked the way the umbrella stood out through the snow.
Rather sadly the cold weather over the last few weeks has caused a serious crack to appear in one of the butresses of the 15thC Bell Tower. The Bell Tower is a unique feature of Chichester Cathedral as there is no other cathedral in this country to have a seperate tower to house the bells. Scaffolding has been put up to support it for the time being, but the restoration of the tower will cost several million pounds. I shall put up some pictures in the near future.
I hope you like this one.

James

This just about sums up this winter for a lot of people. You might want to consider cropping down a tad to remove the area of sky, gives even more emphasis to the splash of colour.

Super shot James, ideally suited to the selective colouring technique that you have used. Funnily enough I was going to suggest cropping but I have to say I prefer V1. I know the accepted wisdom is that you should avoid anything light at the edge of the frame but somehow V1 gives more of a feeling of space whereas V2 seems a bit hemmed in by comparison. Anyway it's my pic of the week so it gets the gong.

Thank you very much for the gong Dave. It really is very much appreciated and gives me great encouragement. Its very interesting the preferance for v2 and I've been a bit undecided myself - to the point that I have at times wondered whether I should have posted v1 at all. Your preferance for v1 restores my confidence and your gong is a hugh boost to my moral.
Thanks again,

James

James, I'm really sorry to hear about the Cathedral that's not good news Sad However your image is delighful, I really like the splash of colour here in this winters scene but I have to say V2 is my preference.
