Cycling home from town a couple of weeks back, with a nearly-full moon on the rise, as the streetlights gave way to quieter, less light-polluted areas I noticed the thin cloud cover was producing this amazing corona.
Needless to say I got home, grabbed my gear and headed out. It was purely a case of finding the right architecture for this lunar rarity to feature as backdrop. This is a very standard and much-photographed view in Cambridge, but I'm willing to put money on the fact that it's never been photographed like this before ![]()
Only photoshop was a resize and sharpen for web, as well as a little highlight boost in the sky to make the stars shine a fraction brighter, so they'd be visible at the lower resolution.
Cheers!
