One of the entrants to the Gordon Bennet Rally 2011, which passed through a local town. The organisers got special permission to drive a section of the towpath along the river Barrow in County Carlow Ireland. I pre focused and waited for the shot to compose itself. I also used a manfrotto monopod & polariser. This shot is from Fenniscourt Lock, near to Bagenalstown.

Lovely composition and perfect black & white, ideal for the subject. Only the conspicuous rally ID indicates that this was not taken in the late 1920s.
I'm just kicking myself that I can't identify the car, though it might be an Invicta or an O.M.

What a lovely timeless image! Very evocative of the 1930's! I particularly like the black and white effect and the small dust cloud behind the car which separates it so well from the background, making it stand out and focus our attention on the car! Excellent! Thank you!

Thanks Bill. I just looked at the original and it says Invicta on the radiator. Well spotted.
