I find this endearing little critters very difficult to photograph as they are always on the move, but this kind character decided to settle on a grass seed-head in the sunshine for a few moments, enabling me to grab a couple of captures before he flew off.

I am constantly amazed at your ability to find beasties I have never seen before and to get such great pics of them. These are no exception, brilliant stuff Carol.

I love those colours on the wing in V1, Carol. But V2 is superb for its furriness Grin

And I have to say...it's got SUCH a cool name.

Two terrific detailed close ups of the blonde pinochio of the insect world, I like the irridescence of its wings. I notice that the Big O has been quiet today, no doubt he's been out and about on the Somerset Levels trying to capture something extraordinary for us to view!

Two wonderfully detailed close ups Carol. I'm busy hunting Panish bugs as we speak (well actually not now, in the free wifi bar) but they are somewhat elusive at the moment, apart from the honey bees on the sage and they are so quick I doubt if I have a half decent shot - yet!

Fine detail Carol - especially his hairy legs. I thought of you today when I was having my afternoon tea outside; there were quite a lot of small bees buzzing around. I would never have been able to photograph them as they were so busy... Lovely creatures to watch and marvel at though. Smile
