A very nice sky which is well exposed so as not to blow the highlights but the foreground is rather dark and lacking in interest (this is something that could be remedied by tweaking the curves in post production) Using a lower PoV and getting nearer to the water as well as using a slower shutter speed to record some movement would have made a more interesting composition in my opinion. This is not meant to be negative in any way and I hope I've not caused offence
I like this - but I am rather partial to monos ! , however I feel the " softness " is a little too much if you don't mind me being picky Dave. I would think that the water would be "soft" enough and if you'd left the rest of the image as " sharp" it would give the image more depth - meaning that the rocks & foliage would stand out more & provide a bit more contrast. Having said that I think it's a great conversion. My monos don't do too well on here and I reckon it's because most people who are on Epz favour "colour" versions of landscapes. But - hey - who cares ? As long as we the photographers like our images and feel we've done the subject justice & maybe learnt a bit as we go along, what does it matter !!
