Brenzett WWII Museum.
When I uploaded the original full frame a while ago there were a number of suggestions for variations – crops, flips, rotations. This was one of the results.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Fantastic shot, superb textures and tones, great dof too, brilliant shot
Hugh
Reminds me of the wheels in my head which are not running at the mo, some say never have but I could not comment on that one, nice rust colours that will keep Mick happy, nice to see the web, good DOF. Good shot Moira.

That's what appeals to me, Gary. Thanks folks. What people haven't picked up on is that I've flipped this so that it's pointing right not left, forwards to the future, not backwards to the past. It does create a different mood for me, but I know I get obsessive over the left/right thing.
Moira
I was going to be a bit mischievious here and suggest you rotate, flip, crop or otherwise alter this, but that might be trying your patience after last time you presented this subject.
Anyway, this is just right, one of those really perfect subjects so very well spotted and captured.
Not sure about the past/future analogy but it looks more balanced pointing this way, as does the arrangement of the cogs. I like balance, very ch'i ![]()

Moira
in most cases left and right are equivalent, and it is impossible to detect whether a picture has been flipped or not....
I share your same obsession about the left/right thing

I even had it pointing upwards last time!

I like balance too. I am a Libran, therefore of course I am perfectly balanced.

Moss/mould/gunge growing on rust. It's a potent mix!

As close to what we see with our own eyes, the shallow focus is as near dammit human, your a nice witch Moira with this cunning example of getting your own way while appeasing the masses.

Quite an admission from Danny too.
If one could call rust yummy it would be in this instance! Very tactile, nicely detailied - colour is superb - love the green bits and that web attached to the front cog, and the selective focus is spot on.

Oh thank you Dougie, that's a lovely compliment. I think...
I like the idea of yummy rust, by the way. And tickling the eyes.
Thanks everyone, Moira

John, thanks so much! In the immortal words (almost) of Max Boyce, You were there...
It was a good day, we must do it again some time.

It was outside in the car park Ann, leaning against the wall just to the right of the entrance. Along with a few other goodies! ![]()

Wonderful tones and textures in that rust, Moira - I prefer this version of the two ![]()

fine display of wonderful vintage rust. and a true fine lace cobweb.
I can take a flower and macro shot but damned if I can zoom into something like this Moira, it never turns out for me - well done you and I like the cobwebs to
Lovely crop Moira - and great colours and texture ![]()

And nor does Mikbee either as he seems to post at all hours of the day!![]()
I've been looking through your 'Rust' series, i quite like them, even though they are a reminder of yet another lost industry or factory closure.
At least someone is making a photographic record of industrial machinery, to pass on to the younger generation, thank you.
I took some photos of a similar nature a few years ago, perhaps i may take some more before the scrap man comes along.
I notice you use a Nikon D90. What's your opinion of it from a users point of view?
The photo quality speaks for itself.
Regards Justwilliam
