Out early this morning looking for Poppies, found a lovely colourful field in the countryside full of flowers, managed to get a few shots, this is one of the keepers, I liked how the flash managed to put a catchlight in his eye.
Resized for the site and a bit of sharpening applied.

Excellent Jason, better than poppies any day. Really nice close up work. helen
Surprised at the low shutter speed on this Jason, I've been trying to do something similar using a light tent and just can't seem to freeze the wings at anything less than 1/500sec. Probably the bee getting angry with me for putting him in the tent, either that or you just have a slow flyer.
Don't get me wrong BTW this isn't a criticism, anything but!.....The shot itself is superb and I wouldn't dare question your ability, all I can say on this one is well done, because to get bees in flight this sharp takes a whole load of skill....
