I think you have done a pretty good job with the processing Nigel. You do get a bi of a blue cast with the long exposure and sometimes that can be very advantageous - other times like this you will want to correct it in ACR. I tend to go for the higher f numbers to get the dof and dont worry too much about how long the exposure is - within reason - max I have done so far is about 450 secs. If you do go for open aperture and slightly shorter exposures it does open the option of using bracketed exposures one for the f/g and one for the sky and then blending them. I found this very useful technique the other day.
