Thanks to everyone for your C&C's on yesterday's bumble bee and special thanks to Alan (AlanBaseley) for his highly valued UA and Willie (banehawi) and Nigel (Nigeve1) for their excellent mods - all much appreciated.

Today a wasp - not a popular creature but impressively put together all the same.

Thanks for looking
Jason

Excellent shot. These keep getting better.

One tip: dont use Auto WB, set it to the light the subject is in.

Thats the major tweak done in the mod, plus a little localized sharpening.

regards

Willie

Thanks Willie - great mod and very helpful advice - I tend to rely on Tweaking white balance in Camera RAW but didn't do it this time and you are right about the difference it makes - thanks gain

Lessons for all regarding White Balance - something we often rely on when light is changing
by the minute! I'd have thought your image was well nigh on perfect but Willie has shown us once again
how it can be improved.

Great macro image, the ringflash ( I presume) has brought out lots of surface detail, good detail.

I must say that I don't like wasps but they make great photographic subjects.

Nice sharp image and I like all the detail of his hair.
